Almere's got 5 train stations: Muziekwijk Almere, Almere Centrum (Almere Central Station), Almere Parkwijk, Almere Buiten, and Almere Oostvaarders.
The city centre with over 300 stores is located within walking distance of train station Almere Centrum. Moreover, bus service 'Connexxion' provides 9 municipal bus lines, making most places in Almere easily accessible (besides, throughout the city there are separate bus lanes!).
But Almere may be best explored by bike, because there are bicycle lanes virtually everywhere, making cycling a safe and enjoyable way of transport.
Apart from renting a bike, it's possible to rent a boat or to make a guided boat tour.
There are a few hotels, campgrounds and bed and breakfast places in Almere.
