Almere is a city suitable for small children. There are playgrounds spread all over town. Moreover, there's an indoor playground, called Ballorig, and a somewhat larger playground, called 'De Speelhaven':

In addition, there is Stadslandgoed De Kemphaan (address: Kemphaanstraat 1), where kids can enjoy themselves. This park includes a small playground with a tunnel and two large hives made of natural materials. Stadslandgoed De Kemphaan is also the place where you can watch monkeys! These monkeys stay in the sanctuary of a foundation, called AAP (which means 'monkey' in Dutch). Besides, there is a labyrinth, a cowshed, and a children's farm with sheep, goats and pigs. On a regular basis, fun activities are organized for children and grownups.
